Who We Are: 

JSA Strategies is a Los Angeles based communications agency specializing in servicing the consumer technology and digital media space. We work with clients, from startups to global brands, to develop and execute the right strategies to reach desired business objectives. Our full suite of services includes strategic counsel, positioning and messaging, thought leadership and media relations. We take a personalized approach to each client to build brands and create value.


Jennifer Acree, Founder & CEO

Jennifer Stephens Acree serves as Founder and CEO of JSA Strategies. Ms. Acree is a results-oriented communications professional with more than 20 years of experience developing and executing winning strategies for both start-ups and established technology and digital media companies. Acree was named one of the top 100 PR Executives in the World and has been recognized in PR Week's "40 Under 40."

Previously, Ms. Acree held senior corporate communications positions at Yahoo! Inc. and Overture Services (acquired by Yahoo! in 2003). Among her roles at Yahoo!, Ms. Acree served as Vice President of Corporate Communications, with oversight for Yahoo!’s category-leading consumer web products. 

Prior to joining Overture, Ms. Acree was Director of Public Relations at, an eCompany start-up, and served in the Corporate Practice at Burson-Marsteller, a global public relations firm. Ms. Acree started her career as a legislative aide on Capitol Hill, focusing on issues including the economy, health care, and technology policy.

Ms. Acree graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and Business Administration from the University of Southern California.


Cassie Lawrence (Jasso), Senior Public Relations Manager

Cassie Lawrence is the Senior Public Relations Manager at JSA Strategies. Ms. Lawrence develops strategies, conducts proactive media relations outreach, and builds media thought leadership programs for consumer technology and digital media client companies.

Prior to joining JSA Strategies, Ms. Lawrence spent more than five years at Dollar Shave Club building the company’s brand, launching high-quality grooming products, and developing innovative marketing partnerships and campaigns. While at DSC, Ms. Lawrence led corporate communications initiatives and spearheaded targeted media outreach for MEL, DSC’s media publication. She was one of the first 10 hires at the company, helping DSC grow from startup to $1 billion acquisition.

Ms. Lawrence holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southern California in Broadcast & Digital Journalism, a Minor in Forensics & Criminality and Emphasis in Spanish. She currently serves on the Content & PR Committee for WIMMIES, a nonprofit based in Los Angeles empowering women in digital media and marketing.


Casey Tamkin, Public Relations Associate and Content Specialist

Casey Tamkin is a Public Relations Associate and Content Specialist at JSA Strategies where she uses her background as a journalist to develop strategic and creative content.

Apart from content development, Ms. Tamkin provides strategic internal support to digital media and technology clients through speaking engagements and thought leadership opportunities. She helps to ensure clients’ success through leading targeted media outreach, assisting in drafting comprehensive PR plans, and highlighting potential award nominations.

Ms. Tamkin graduated with honors from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Print and Digital Journalism and a minor in Communication and the Entertainment Industry.
